One-Way Flights to Dallas

Dallas has two airports with very different vibes. DFW International is American Airlines' biggest hub — massive, with routes to everywhere. Dallas Love Field (DAL) is the smaller, closer-to-downtown airport and Southwest's original home base. Two airports means double the competition, which keeps one-way fares low. American Airlines dominates DFW with more routes than any other airline at any single airport. They price aggressively when budget carriers enter a route. Spirit and Frontier also fly into DFW with rock-bottom one-way fares from coast to coast — sub-$40 fares from Chicago, Denver, Orlando, and Atlanta pop up regularly. Southwest practically owns Love Field. Free checked bags, no change fees, and competitive pricing make them the go-to for value. Love Field is also way easier to navigate than DFW — smaller terminal, shorter security lines, and it's 15 minutes from downtown vs 30+ for DFW. Dallas is centrally located in the US, which means flights from both coasts are relatively short and cheap. One-way fares under $50 are common from major cities. The best deals come from routes with heavy Spirit/Frontier competition — the East Coast corridor and Florida routes. Cheapest months: September, October, and February. Summer travel is expensive because Dallas is a connection point for vacation destinations. Thanksgiving and Christmas spike hard. Book 2-4 weeks out for domestic one-way flights. Tuesday and Wednesday are the cheapest departure days.
